App: Dekitabi (habit tracker)

Dekitabi ("the App") is provided by KAZUKI SAWASHIMA ("the Developer"). It lets you record the days you kept a habit you want to build or quit. This policy explains how the App handles information.

Information we collect

The App does not collect personal information such as your name or email address. There is no account sign-up, and the App shows no ads. The only information sent outside your device is the "usage stats" described below (which you can turn off in Settings at any time) and the purchase-related information described under "Purchases."

Usage stats are on by default. After you set up your first habit, the App shows a one-time notice that it sends usage stats. Nothing is sent until you respond to the notice, and choosing "Don’t send" there discards anything collected up to that point. If you choose "Don’t send," or turn off "Share usage stats" in Settings, nothing is sent after that (turning it off in Settings sends one event showing it was turned off, just before it stops). Communication with RevenueCat to verify purchases is separate from this setting. Only the following information is sent, to help improve the App:

This information is sent to an analytics service (PostHog, Inc., USA). Location is not collected (the App explicitly disables estimating location from your IP address). Because of how internet connections work, PostHog receives your IP address and may store it with the records. Records sent to PostHog are kept according to PostHog's terms (according to PostHog, 1 year on free plans and 7 years on paid plans). Habit names and notes are never sent. You can turn this off in Settings at any time.

Under the same setting (when "Share usage stats" is on, and only after you respond to the notice), the App also sends events to a counting server: the first time the App is opened on a device (once), each time the Dekitabi PRO screen is shown (and the first time it is shown), and when the App takes in checks you made on the Home Screen widget (and the first time this happens).

What you enter in the App (habit names, types, weekdays, reminder times, checked days, notes, and for quit habits the quit date and time, daily amount, and price, rest days, and so on) is stored on your device. To show your habits on the Home Screen widget, the App also saves habit names, totals, current streaks, and today's checks in storage shared with the widget on your device. Checks you make on the widget are added to your records when you open the App. In versions that support automatic backups to iCloud Drive, a backup copy is also saved to your own iCloud Drive as described below. The Developer does not receive this content.

Data on your device

Data recorded in the App is stored in the App's private storage on your device. Deleting the App deletes this data from your device (backup copies saved to iCloud Drive are not deleted). To back up or move your data, use the automatic iCloud Drive backup below or the file export described under "Sharing and export."

Automatic backups to iCloud Drive

When "Back up automatically" under Auto backup in Settings is on (it is on by default), and at least 24 hours have passed since the last backup when you open the App, the App saves your records (habit names, types, weekdays, reminder times, checked days, notes, and for quit habits the quit date and time, daily amount, and price, rest days, and so on) as a single JSON file in the "Dekitabi" folder of the iCloud Drive linked to your Apple Account. The App keeps the last 7 days of backups and deletes older ones. Apple's iCloud stores and syncs the file; the Developer never receives or views it. If iCloud Drive is unavailable or your iCloud storage is full, the backup is saved only in the App's private storage on your device.

You can turn automatic backups off under Auto backup in Settings at any time. You can delete saved backups in the Files app under iCloud Drive > Dekitabi. Backups in iCloud Drive remain even if you delete the App. On a new device or after reinstalling, if the App has no records, it asks once whether to restore from a backup it finds. If one is found after you have started using the App, it only shows a note on the Today screen and does not replace your records.

Notifications

The App uses local notifications on your device for the following. Notification content is not sent outside your device. You can change notification permission in your device's Settings at any time.

Long-press a notification for a habit you want to build and tap "Done" to check it off without opening the App. The check is added to your records when you open the App.

Sharing and export

Separately from automatic backups, the App can export your data to a file (and restore from that file), export CSV for spreadsheets, and export an image summarizing your records. These work only when you explicitly start them on screen, and you choose where to send them (mail, messages, Files, and so on) through your device's share sheet. The Developer never receives or views these files.

When you save a share image to Photos, the App adds it to your photo library with your permission through iOS. The App does not read the photos in your library.

Purchases

Purchases in the App (PRO: monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions, and a one-time purchase) are provided through App Store in-app purchase. Purchases are managed with RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), which processes your purchase history, a user ID, and subscription expiration dates. The RevenueCat SDK communicates from the time the App starts, so even if you have not purchased PRO, it sends an automatically generated app user ID, the device identifier IDFV when available, the device type, OS, app, and SDK versions, region and currency settings, and similar information. It also sends the current iOS tracking permission status, but the App never asks for that permission. In addition, the App passes attribution information issued by Apple to RevenueCat, which shows whether you downloaded the App from an Apple Ads ad and, if so, the campaign, ad group, and search keyword. This information is used to confirm purchases, provide features, and understand purchase status and the effectiveness of ads. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Apple and RevenueCat; the Developer does not obtain or store them. The App uses only your purchase status (whether you have purchased and whether a subscription is active) to decide which features are available.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change without notice due to changes in law or new features in the App. If there are important changes, we will announce them by updating this page.

Terms of Use

Effective: 2026-09-07

In addition to these terms, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

The service

The App counts and displays the checks you make as a number of days. The numbers shown are based on your input, and the Developer does not guarantee their accuracy. The App does not provide medical or health advice, and it is not a treatment for quitting drinking or smoking. Reminders (notifications) are scheduled on your device only if you allow them (the daily reminder can be turned on or off in Settings and is off by default), and may not arrive depending on your device's settings or state.

PRO (auto-renewing subscriptions and one-time purchase)
